How to Use the White Pages
Whitepages is a residential phone book you can use to look up individuals. You can search several different ways, depending on what information you have available to enter in the site’s search bar. The original format for Whitepages was a printed directory, but the internet is more frequently used today.
Using a Printed Directory
If you’re looking at a printed residential white pages directory, the names are in alphabetical order, with the last name shown first. Turn to the alphabetical section labeled with the first letter of the last name. Browse through the list of names until you find the correct last name. Then, look for the first name. When you find the name of the person or family you’re seeking, you can follow the line across the page to see the street address and then the phone number.
Searching Online by Name
To search Whitepages residential listings by name online, go to the main Whitepages web page. The search tool’s default setting is “Person” so that you can enter the name. The results you get may also include some misspelled variations of the name you entered. You may see results from all around the country based on a name search. If you need to narrow the search to include only a certain state, click “Show Filters” and the drop-down list lets you choose only the people who have the chosen name in the selected state.
Searching Online by Phone Number
If the phone number is the only information you have available to use when looking up residential telephone numbers, Whitepages has a search function that simplifies the search. Select the “Phone” option and enter the number. It isn’t necessary to add the parenthesis or dash symbols, although the search still functions if you do enter those details. If the number is unlisted or a cellular phone, there may not be much information available unless you choose to pay for the full report the site offers.
Searching Online by Address
If the address is the only information you have available when searching the white residential pages, click the “Reverse Address” icon and enter the street address, city, state and ZIP code information. If you don’t have all of the information requested, you can still search, although the results may be limited if there is information missing.
Using Whitepages Commercially
Businesses using the Whitepages residential code book to look up information, the Whitepages company suggests the Whitepages Pro service. This service is designed for any use that’s business related. Tasks such as creating mailing lists and reviewing the material on a job applicant’s resume are two examples of commercial use. Collection agencies and skip tracing services are also asked to use the commercial portion of Whitepages Pro to complete tasks associated with finding people.

How to Add Page Numbers in PowerPoint

Adding slide numbers is a good way to know how many slides are left before reaching the end of the presentation. In this new Slidesgo School tutorial, you’ll learn how to enable slide numbering step by step.
Adding Slide Numbers
Editing slide numbers, enabling slide numbers in our templates.
- Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
- Go to the Insert tab.
- In the Text group, click Header & Footer. A new window will open.
- Header & Footer buttonCheck “Slide number” to enable it. You’ll see a little box highlighted in black on the preview.
- If you don’t want to apply slide numbering or any other header or footer element to the title slide, check “Don’t show on title slide”.
- Once done, to apply these changes only to the selected slide, click Apply. If you want to apply the changes to all the slides, click Apply to All (the title slide will be skipped if you’ve checked “Don’t show on title slide”).
- Now you can edit the style of the slide numbers to adapt it to your needs.
- Some of our templates might require a different procedure in order to add slide numbering. We recommend that you read the last section of this tutorial.
- Run PowerPoint and open the presentation in which the slide numbers are enabled.
- If you want to edit the style of the text, you can do so in each individual slide. In fact, you can adjust the size, color, font, position, etc.
- If you want to adjust these parameters for all the slides at once, you need to do so in the slide master. Go to the View tab and, in the Master Views group, click Slide Master.
- Select the slide master (the first one, which acts as the parent slide). Then, click the slide number box, which is the one that contains the text “<#>”.
- Make any adjustments until you’re happy with the results. If you need to modify anything related to the typography, you’ll find the relevant options on the Home tab. To modify anything related to the text box, go to the Shape Format tab. You can also move the text box around to change its position.
- Once you’re done, go to the Slide Master tab and click Close Master View. The changes will be applied to all the slides.
- Please note that if you make any adjustment on any slide, it will be overridden by any further modification made on the slide master.
- Open our template in PowerPoint.
- Go to the View tab and, in the Master Views group, click Slide Master.
- Select the slide master (the first one, which acts as the parent slide).
- Go to the Slide Master tab and, in the Master Layout group, click Master Layout. A new window will open.
- Check “Slide numbers” and click OK. A text box will appear at the bottom-right corner with the text “<#>”.
- For this box to appear in all the slides, make sure you check “Footers”, located in the Master Layout group, on the Slide Master tab. This box needs to be checked for all the layout masters (please note that selecting multiple layout masters at the same time and checking this box doesn’t work as intended, since the change will be applied only to the current layout master).
- Now you can enable slide numbers as explained in the first section of this tutorial.

How to Add Superscript and Subscript in Google Slides
Let’s take the most famous formula: E=mc^2, Einstein’s relativity equation. It wouldn’t be the same if it was E=mc2, right? Okay, yes, some people write it like that because it’s very famous and it won’t be misunderstood. But technically… It can! This is where the sophistication of superscript or subscript enters the room! Do you know how to write them in equations, copyright brands or even footnotes in your presentations? Let’s figure out how.
How to add slide numbers in PowerPoint

Adding slide numbers in PowerPoint, on the face of it, is pretty easy. In fact PowerPoint provides a wealth of ways to add page numbers onto your slides; however, some of these methods don’t always work. So if you’re at the end of your tether and you just can’t get those pesky numbers to show up on your slides, here’s how you can add slide numbers in PowerPoint in three ways.
Before we dig in with our first method, it’s worth saying I don’t know why using some of these options don’t work every time, but hopefully one of these ways will be the secret to magicking that oh-so elusive number on your slide, and save you the editability nightmare of adding them all in manually to a 207 slide deck.
Method 1: How to insert a slide number
The simplest way to add a slide number in PowerPoint is to navigate to the ‘Insert’ tab, and then click the icon to ‘Insert Slide Number’.

Clicking this option opens a pop-up where you check ‘Slide Number’ and then ‘Apply to all’

Method 2: How to add footers in the Slide Master
If step one didn’t work, let’s level up our slide number skills. Navigate to the View tab, and then open the Slide Master. Once you’re in the Slide Master you’ll notice that you still have the Insert Slide Number option you did in the normal PowerPoint view. For some reason of explicit wizardry, this option doesn’t work.
When you open up the Slide Master it will default onto the page layout for the page you we’re viewing in the normal view. If you are struggling to get slide numbers on this page it could be because the ‘Footers’ option isn’t checked. Checking this should bring up a number of pre-programmed footers on your slide.

Method 3: How to edit the Master Layout
Step two works for adding slide numbers if things have been deleted or moved (often by accident) from a particular template in your master, but sometimes there are page numbers missing across multiple layouts. So to fix this, we go back and open up the Slide Master from the View tab and select the main layout (you might have to scroll to the top to find it).
Right click and select ‘Master Layout’.

This will bring up a number of options, one of which… drum roll please… will be the option to add a slide number. Make sure this box is checked and it should bring up your slide numbers in all their collective glory!

The trick to a lot of this is playing around with the different methods to find the one that works for your presentation. Maybe we could all petition Microsoft to see if they can find a single reliable way of adding in page numbers, instead of three that don’t seem to work so well, but this should give you a good starting point, and save you from the nightmare of adding things in manually.
As you can probably tell Slide Masters take quite a lot of mastering. Few people rarely sit down and make a master layout from scratch – most companies already have one. But over time people move or edit things, or the original master was made quite poorly to begin with, and it makes working in PowerPoint miserable. If you want to hack your way to Slide Master Master, then check out our events page , we regularly run a free webinar on slide masters and templates, so sign up and be the saviour of your company PowerPoint.

As we all know, it is very important to add page numbers in PowerPoint because they help keep track of your progress when presenting. In PowerPoint, slide numbers normally don’t show by default; hence you are required to make them visible. But most people do not know how to do that, so this article provides a guide with you on how to add page numbers in PowerPoint.

Note: If you have followed this procedure as outlined above and the slide numbers are still not visible, you can do the following.
- There might be an occurrence of slide contents overlapping the slide numbers, so you can try to figure out that issue by rearranging the objects.
- If it fails, you can try redoing the procedure keenly.
